In order to modernize the original style, Balenciaga produced the Track 2 Black, which features 176 panels on the upper in a black shade.

The Balenciaga Track 2’s vamp is composed of a mesh overlay and a textile underlay, which are all layered in leather and reach the mudguard. The multi-layered pattern on the quarters is maintained by the entwining leather strands that leave a translucent patch close to the collar. The white “BALENCIAGA” inscription contrasts with the predominately black tone just in front of the lateral heel. The tongue’s “track 2” pattern and the counter’s embossed BALENCIAGA emblem also feature additional branding.
